Description
We are in Pozzolengo just a few minutes from Lake Garda and a stone's throw from the Chervò Golf Club, a point of reference for the best golfers in Italy and beyond. Pozzolengo, immersed in greenery and surrounded by the Lugana vineyards, is a highly sought-after location, the center of gravity of the most popular cycle paths that connect in a few minutes to Peschiera, Sirmione, Desenzano, Valeggio sul Mincio and Borghetto, Volta Mantua: a true paradise for enthusiasts of cycle tourism. Territory: Pozzolengo is an Italian town in the province of Brescia in Lombardy. It is located in the southeastern part of the province, between Lake Garda and its morainic hills, and is at the crossroads of three provinces (Brescia, Mantua and Verona) and two regions (Lombardy and Veneto). The territory is hilly with plenty of water. It is crossed by the Redone stream and there are peat bogs, where the typical flora and fauna of wetlands develop, and wells which, especially in the past, were scattered throughout the municipal area. In this regard, it seems that the ancient name of the municipality ("Pocelengo") meant precisely "village of wells". Natural and the last balcony on the expanse of the large Lugana wine-growing area, the village was inhabited since prehistoric times. The town was the scene of the raids of: Goths, Hungarians, Unni and Avari, then of the clashes between Guelphs and Ghibellines, up to the lansquenets in 1520, and the passage of Napoleon Bonaparte in 1796.
